On Monday, June 12, Advocates for Ohio's Future hosted a press conference at the Ohio Statehouse featuring health and human service leaders and advocacy organizations across the state to address the state Senate’s version of the budget bill that was introduced last week.
In the bill, severe cuts are being made to safety net programs and services. Proposed policy changes will make access to critical services harder for low-to-moderate income households.
The Ohio Urban Community Action Network (OUCAN) stands with state advocates and leaders in urging the state Senate to restore funding for services and programs, so all Ohioans have access to healthcare, food, housing, childcare and other resources to be part of the state’s economic prosperity.
Please read our official statement “We need the opportunity for all Ohioans to Prosper” and join us next week for the Rally for Ohio’s Future on Wednesday, June 21st at 12 p.m. at the Ohio Statehouse West Lawn.
Lend your voice when it matters most – as final budget decisions are being made – and demand state policymakers restore a budget that prioritizes the people of Ohio.
